Cowboy X - Home Page

David Hughes - Guitar

David Hughes - Guitar
David Hughes was born on January 26, 1968 in Omaha, NE.   He began playing guitar in 1983.  After several high school bands, he helped formed an all original band named Cowboy X in 1989.   In 1990 a six song EP was released and after four live performances, Cowboy X broke up in 1991.  In 1992, Dave joined a local cover band called Strait UP only to leave that band a year later to complete Pool Boy Rob in May of 1993.

Dave bided farewell to Pool Boy Rob after five years and moved to Seattle, Washington in August of 1998.

In September of 1998, Dave answered an ad listed by Bill who was looking to form a cover band. From there Mr Bill was formed. Mr Bill played the Seattle club circuit from 1998 until Dave's last show in June of 2007. Dave was also a member of the Rush tribute band Anthem, which was formed by Mr Bill's vocalist, Bill.

In July of 2007, Dave decided it was time to move back to Omaha, NE. to be closer to family.

In September of 2007, Dave became a member of the band Red Queen performing original material written by Kristi Curtis. However, his stay with that band did not last long.

He is now in a cover band with good friends Chuck Tostenson, Barry Engle and Bill Curtis. Bill is behind the drums and came over from Red Queen with Dave. Chuck was the former vocalist of Pool Boy Rob and covering vocals and bass. Barry is playing guitar as he did in the original Cowboy X lineup. I'm glad to be on the same stage with all of them again.
